I believe that the key to unlocking your body’s extraordinary healing powers and building lasting well-being lies in treating the body in it’s wholeness. I have discovered that we each are living in absolutely brilliant bodies, under the layers of restrictions, persistent pain and limitations. How did I get here?
Transitioning from a Physical Therapist Assistant to an Entrepreneur and Wellness Practitioner was a deliberate choice, aligning with my roles as a blessed wife and mother of three. My innate curiosity and dedication to unraveling people's physical puzzles have led me to this point.
However, it was my personal journey through significant physical challenges during the path to motherhood and accompanying my husband through his cancer battle that fueled my quest for knowledge about healing—nurturing not just the body but the mind and spirit as well.
As I faced life's greatest challenges, I became aware that my physical and mental health were at risk, as I could feel the tissues and cells absorbing the higher demand. The emotional strain was mounting. My nervous system was on high alert much of the time!
That is when I began to ReWild my own self and set out to discover the practices and tools, backed by the world's leaders from all disciplines, blending with my experience to find an integrative approach to effectively target repair, balance and healing in the body. I turned my focus to the science and art of whole-person Wellness and Well-being.
Movement became my medicine. Supportive nutrition was essential. Coping (using breathwork, nervous system regulation and trusting in my faith) and mental strength-building (mindset and meditation) became critical, life-saving practices.
I began to build a deep toolbox and these practices became embeded into my everyday life.
My awareness of what I chose to "ingest" (what I was eating, listening to, watching, reading, thinking) each and every day became vital, as I really needed energy and balance to be efficient, effective and available.
I learned that the daily movement and exposure to Nature’s healing forces fed my healing.
More often than not we find ourselves automatically reacting to the events of life, rather than intentionally responding, with control in our hands. Whether it is persistent pain and restriction, emotional stress, or daily life obstacles, we can get pushed off of our desired path. When we learn that we have a choice and when we discover the how-to tools for maintaining balance, then we can finally regain alignment and forward motion.
I have been there. And I absolutely know (from experience and because I see it daily) that there is an alternative to the existing paradigm of treating these ongoing, recurring symptoms, a holistic one that offers hope and long-lasting movement toward ease, mobility and freedom of function.
I am so grateful that I now get to help others find their unique wellness plan to feel well, move forward and live a more balanced, vital life.
